Born Again; Paradox
John 3:3-6
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Thayer Definition: Born again
to produce again, be born again, born anew
metaphorically to have one's mind changed so that he lives a new life and one conformed to the will of God
More than a Changed Mind
Some has tried to reduce being born again as nothing more than having a change of mind, a new way of thinking.
while in scripture we are often to change our mind to change our thinking, we are told to change our thinking to reflect what has occurred on the inside.
New Nature, New Heart, New Mind
So yes being born again is a charge of mind, but such a change can only really be produced from a change of heart.
(the Bible declare we live from the heart [Proverbs 4:23/ Proverbs 23:7] and the heart is deceitful and wicked - Jeremiah 17:9)
We become new Creatures, having and new nature, a new heart with a brand new mentality (2 Corinthians 5:17)
