Priestly Prayer
The Canon of Prayer; Day 47
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
(1 Peter 2:9) And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
(Revelation 5:10)
We are priest
As we begin to discover who we are in Christ, we realize our priestly calling. The Word declare we are not just priest but royal priest. The priest of old were charged which the responsibility of attending to the house of God, the temple. We just like the priest must attend to the temple, sanctifying it into the Lord. Our bodies is the temple of the Lord and we must sanctify it unto the Lord, we must consecrate our temple.
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? ( 1 Corinthians 6:9)
That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; (1 Thessalonians 4:4)
Priest also have the responsibility of offering sacrifices and prayer on behalf of the people, the Bible declares we are to be living sacrifices…
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” (Romans 12:1)
As priest it only makes sense that we offer ourselves as a sacrifice; knowing that the ultimate sacrifice was made once and for all. When the priest made sacrifice, they first made sacrifice for themselves so that before they went before the King on behalf of the people they themselves were first cleansed. The sacrifice of the priest qualified him to go before God for the people. Any sacrifice that we offered to God has to be without spot on blemish. We must sanctify our lives and keep unspotted from the world so we can stand in the gap as priest and intercede for the people. An unclean life will hinder your prayer life…
“But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.” (Isaiah 59:2)
Realizing your identity as priest is about being like the King (Jesus), He is the King-priest who declared us kingly priest.
“So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee. As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec” (Hebrews 6:5,10)
God did predestine us not in the way that violation our free will but He set a standard, “The image of the son” (Romans 8:28-29, Ephesians 1:4:5) who was and is the King-Priest.
Prayer
Father I offer my life as a living sacrifice unto you and resolve in my heart to sanctify myself unto you, for you and for your glory. Reveal every area in me and in my life that does not like up with your priestly-kingly Character.
I take the priestly mantle, and intercede on the behalf of our community, city, state and region and prayer deliverance to those bound, ! bind up every form of addiction, I bind every form of sexual immorality, I bind every form of perversion in name of the KING- Jesus.
I destroy the chains of bondage and spiritual blindness. I declare blind eyes are starting to see in the spirit, deaf ears are starting to hear in the spirit.
I tear down every stronghold, sever every soultie, confound every demon carrying an assignment against the people in my community, city, state and region.
We your chosen nation, your royal priesthood who are called by your name humble ourselves and prayer for our community, city, state and region, seek your face and intentionally purge ourselves of everything not like, and we declare it is so.
This is the Decree of the King
