Gatekeepers Prayer

The Canon of Prayer; Day 16

I wanted to start this prayer out with first equipping you-the reader with tools to prayer over your city, state and region. There is a great book that you can buy called Prayers that Rout Demons by John Eckhardt and it has an awesome prayer called “Prayers Over Gates”, it is a powerful prayer. I was going to use that for today but God has something else he wanted to say and teach us to pray.

Your gates are your senses, or rather the organ through which you experience your senses; ears, eyes, nose, mouth, skin-touch, Things enter the gate of your mind through your sensory gates of sight, (what you see) hearing (what you hear) smell (what you can smell) and touch (what you come in contain with).

Gates are portals, entry ways (in or out); the way things get in, gain access to our mind, our spirit and work its way into our lives for good or bad. What we allow through those gates will influence our mind-our thinking, our spirit and ultimately our lives. What we allow into our ear-gates and eye-gates speaks to and influences our spirit, that is why scripture teaches that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17) faith is spiritual sight, sight is developed and tuned as we hear, learn and understand the word of God. “a picture is worth a thousand words” goes the old saying, so what we allow our eyes to see speaks volume and volumes to our spirit.

TV, Radios, Phones, Computers, Windows and Doors are all gates to your home and family. We must set a watch over those gates; we must be gatekeeper and determine what we will allow in and out. We must be intentional about making sure what we allow through the gates of our lives will make the kind of influence that will please the King. We need to cover our gates in prayer and with the blood of Jesus, and purpose to allow what will influence our mind and spirit for the good and disallow those things that will influence us negatively.

The gates of our city is any way the enemy can gain access to the lives of people to manipulate, disrupt or influence them/us with his agenda.

Father we set a watch over the gates of our lives, mind, spirit and over the gates of our city. We cover our ear-gates, our eye-gates, nose-gates, mouth-gates and our skin-gates right now in the power and authority of the King-Jesus. We cover every television, phone, radio, computer with the blood of Jesus, every door and window; we set a watch over the gate of our lives and over the gates of our city right now.

This is the Decree of the King.
