Children of Light Prayer

The Canon of Prayer: Day 20

“God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.” (1 John 1:5) Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; (Ephesians 5:1) For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light” (Ephesians 5:8)

God-our father is light and when we are born again, we become just like Him; light. We are also told that in God is no darkness at all; however we were once darkness, lived in darkness and controlled by it. What is this darkness? The simple answer is; “the absence of light”, the absence of God. Scripture tells us that at one point we were without God in the world (Ephesians 2:11, 12); in darkness, because God is light and the absence of light is darkness.

Darkness is further understood as wickedness, evil and sin as it pertains to a character of a person or thing; in God none of these exist. God is defined as good and He is the only one who possesses this characteristic innately . So light is understand as good; so God is good and is not lacking or deficient in goodness.

As God’s children born again by His Spirit, we are to imitate the goodness of God; we are supposed to appropriate the Character of God, the “Fruit of the Spirit”. We are born again of God in the darkness of the world, the evil, the wickedness and sin of the world to be the light in the world, the goodness and the righteousness of God. “For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;” (Ephesian 5:9)

Jesus said “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. (Matthew 5:14-16) Jesus the light, came to shine in the darkness of the world and He died on the cross for our sins and sent us His Holy Spirit so that we can be born again as Children of Light (John 1:9-12)

The only thing light has to do to overcome and dispel dark is be light, and that is what God called us to do, be light. All we have to do is be that Holy Nation, that Royal Priesthood, the Peculiar People that God has called us to be and we will shine like the lights we were created to be; because he has called us out of darkness and into His marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9).

Prayer

Father I declare; we shall be what you called us and You called us, light; children of Light. Thank You for calling us out of Darkness to be lights in the darkness; that man may come to the light. God you are the Light the lighten to all men. God you called us a Holy Nation a Royal Priesthood and a Peculiar people and that what's we shall be. We shall be the light in darkness, exposing the lies and tricky of the devil.

I Declare, we shall be the light that exposes spirits at work in our communities, church, cities, states and region. We push back the darkness even now, as will walk in the reality of our identity as children of light. We shall be the light that recoveries the sight of those who the enemy has blind.

This is the Decree of the King
