Binding the Spirit of Lust

The Canon of Prayer

Today I want to expose the many facets of Lust, to expose the lie of the enemy and equip you with the knowledge (power and authority) to pray effectively, to bind the Spirit of lust effectively and tear down the stronghold of lust effectively.

Many who are bound or oppressed by the Spirit of Lust, are simply because they have believed (having been taught) the lie of the enemy that lust is exclusively a sexual sin. Lust has been stealthy and covertly operating in many of our live under the guise of “something else”; we have been busy binding the “something else”. When we bind the something else and don’t deal with the root-lust, it’s like cutting the grass; it won’t be long before it has become a problem again.

Lust is the Strongman of the Stronghold of our desires. Lust is in fact any desire that is impure in nature, any desire that leads to sin, any desire not brought under the authority of God- the King. Lust is any desire that does not line up with the character of the God, or does not express the character of the God. Lust is our desires not governed by God’s Holy Spirit, not governed by the Kingdom and the King. In the Stronghold-this fortified place of our desire, other Spirits has set up camp and they are normally the "something else" that shows up that we spent time binding up and casting out, only for it to resurface. Scripture is clear; “No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.” (Mark 3:27)

What is it that lives in the Stronghold of the Strongman Lust that stealthy and covertly operates in our lives that we keep mowing down in prayer; the “something else”. The Spirit of Jealous, envy, covetousness and greed all live in the stronghold of Lust. People lie, cheat, steal, manipulate and even kill because their desire-Lust is driving them. Yes, lust is manifested in fornication, adultery, homosexuality, rap, molestation and masturbation; but the root of all of these is Lust. Let’s stop mowing the grass in these areas, let’s go after the root; it’s the Spirit of Lust.

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” (1 John 2:15-16) “Beloved, I urge you as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from the desires of the flesh, which war against your soul.” (1 Peter 2:11) “Instead, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the desires of the flesh.” (Romans 13:14)

Prayer

Lust has also robbed many in their prayer lives. “Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.” (James 4:3)

Father I Bind the Strongman Lust Right in the power and authority conferred unto me by the King-Jesus. I bind, rebuke and curse at the root the Spirit of Lust that has and is oppressing in the lives of people in my community, church, city, state and region. I declare in the name of Jesus your leaves are drying up and falling off, Spirit of Lust. You shall not produce fruit in my community, church, city, state and region; I come against every plot, plan, strategy you have deployed and employed, I render them ineffective right now.

I Bind the Strongman and tear down the stronghold of Lust and spoil the camp of the enemy and send you running seven ways. I break to piece the chains of envy, jealousy, covetousness and greed; you have not authority to operate in my community, church, city, state and region. The people are free from your hold on their lives and from you operation in their lives. I break to piece in the spirit realm right now by the authority Jesus gave unto me, that whatever I bind of earth shall be bound in heaven; I break the chains of the Spirit of fornication, adultery, homosexuality, rap, molestation and masturbation.

God we surrender our desires to you, we align our desires with your will, you said if we delight ourselves in you, you would give our heart what to desire. Father, forgive us for not submitting our desires to you. May our desire become so intertwined with yours that we only desire what you desire.
