Fresh Anointing Prayer

The Canon of Prayer: Day 26

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised. (Luke 4:18) Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. (John 14:12)

The anointing is synonymous with favor, blessing, power and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit, the anointing is the divine enablement to accomplish what God has called us to accomplish. All throughout scripture we read the Spirit moving upon men and women to accomplish what would otherwise be impossible. But before we get too far down the road talking about the anointing and the power that the anointing grants the believer; let us first briefly look at the history of anointing as it relates to God and His people.

Olive oil was used for the anointing of Kings and Priests; the meaning and purpose for the anointing is what needs to the focus and not who was anointed. The oil was used for consecrating and setting people and even things aside for God. Samson under the anointing did might exploits; but his disobedience caused him to become a slave. What we must realize and remember is that our anointing is a sign of our commitment to be separated unto God, for God and for His purpose. We must live consecrate live unto the Lord because of the anointing that we have. Saul the anointed King lost his Kingdom-the anointing to rule as king because of His disobedience. So don’t just walk in the power and gift of your anointing but also in the obedience that the anointing requires.

The Holy Spirit is the oil to our lamp that enables us to let our light shine. That why we are instructed not to grieve or quench the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:30, 1 Thessalonians 5:17) so that we can continue to shine and be effective. Sin and disobedience grieves the Holy Spirit, quenches the Holy Spirit and interrupt the flow of the oil.

Sometime we burn the oil working, walking in the assignment we are called to and we can feel like the oil in our lamp is running low, we feel like we are running of fumes but the bible declares; “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31) Waiting on the Lord is trusting, submitting to and obeying God; and those who do, will walk in the overflow.

Everyone wants the anointing but not many have the discipline to walk in the obedience require of the anointing; what happens is, they become to tools of the enemy with a false gift with not real power to effect eternal change. It is the same as expecting a lamp to keep on burning without refilling it with oil; we need to be in constant obedient fellowship with the father to sustain a constant flow of oil. Back in the “Bible days” when they need oil for their lamp someone had to crush some olives. If you want the oil to flow, you are going to have to crush some olives. We are going to have to deal with these things in our live that quench, grieve the Holy Spirit. Sometime God puts us in the press; in situation that will challenge us to produce some oil. No matter what; the oil we need to keep our lamp burning is going to require discipline and obedient submission.

Prayer

Father we declare; the oil is flowing in our live because we are submitted and obedient to you and your will. Show us anything, any area that hinders the flow. We are refreshed even now by the oil of your Spirit flowing in our lives. Father we declare the manifestation of your anointing, the supernatural at work in our lives, healing, deliverance, signs, wonders and miracles. We are shining our light and it is burning strong, because of your anointing we are dispelling the darkness and recovering and restoring the sight of those blinded by the devil.

Father we thank you for the crushing, for every trail, tribulation, test and situation that produces oil; we crush everything unlike you our lives. We stand fast and faithful under the pressure of temptation, we consecrate ourselves, and we discipline ourselves in obedient submission to your will. We come against spiritual burnout in Jesus name and declare fresh oil, fresh oil flow, fresh oil is flowing.

This is the decree of the King
