Declaration of Peace
The Canon of Prayer; Day 37
Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours].
Philippians 4:6-7 Amplified Bible (AMP)
The Lord has revealed to me two dynamics of peace that we come to possess once we become born again citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven. We obtain first peace with God, which causes us to possess the peace of God.
Peace with God
“For to us a Child shall be born, to us a Son shall be given; And the government shall be upon His shoulder, And His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6)
Jesus offered Himself as a Peace offering in our place on our behalf; the Prince of Peace signed a peace treaty with His own Blood, so that we can have peace with God. When Adam sinned, all of humanity became infected by the disease call SIN (Satan’s Inherited Nature); His act of treason against the King and the Kingdom severed the relationship between God and man. The peace we always knew was interrupted and our new carnal state (Romans 8:7) made us enemies of God. But, “when we were enemies, we were reconciled [to make peace; restore severed relation] to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.” (Romans 5:10)
For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit. (Ephesians 2:14-18)
There is no longer anything between us and God, we have peace with God through the cross; we have atonement. At-one-ment with God. The work Christ accomplished on the cross in the “ment” that makes us “at one” with God; Atonement.
The Peace of God
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (John 14:27)
Now that we are “at-one” we God, reconcile and now have peace with God; we can now experience the peace of God. The peace of God is like no other peace that we can find or experience on earth. Jesus says this is the kind of peace I am leaving you. This peace is the assurance that no matter what, we will be alright; this is no one and nothing on earth that can give us that guarantee. The guarantee is not that everything will always go right; the peace of God is a peace that stands even in the storm. Jesus went as far to say “I have told you these things, so that IN ME YOU MAY HAVE PEACE. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Now that we are in Christ we have the certainty of eternity in His Kingdom.
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. (Isaiah 26:3)
Not only do we have the certainty of heaven, but the certainty that God is with us in every storm; that He will never leave us or forsake us. We have the certainty that all things, are working together for our good (Romans 8:28). We have the assurance that God will be our anchor in the storm, in the roughest of waters; that God will be our refuge in the time of trouble.(Psalm 46:1)
Prayer
Father I thank you for the peace we have in you. I thank you for purchasing our peace with your own blood. I thank you God that you are my peace who has broken down every wall. I thank you that you are my anchor in the storm; I thank you that you are my refuge in the time of trouble.
I Declare and decree the peace of God over my live, and in my life; the peace that passes all human understand, a peace that only God can give; like nothing on earth.
This is the decree of the King
